Wednesday Homestretch
This is a quick because I am heading out to take the interns for a couple drinks… What could possibly go wrong there?
Midday Wednesday and markets are mixed on light volume. Dow outperforming, but the action seems to be mostly earnings driven. Netflix holding steady after not-good-enough results yesterday, and stock still up 97% YTD. Saw Grainger up 11% after a beat, and traders waiting for IBM and eBay after the close.

Celebrity Birthdays- Saul “Canelo” Alvarez turns 28 today. Mexican guy with a Jewish name and Irish-red hair… Really had no choice but become a fighter. His postponed rematch vs GGG still on for September 15th at the T-Mobile Arena in Vegas unless he gets his hand on some more HGH tainted Mexican sausages.
And speaking of HGH tainted Mexican sausages, Vin Diesel turns 51 today… I woulda guessed younger. I don’t think many other people have typed this sentence, but- I think Vin Diesel is a genius. His days as an action-movie star are rapidly coming to an end as his breasts rapidly droop towards his belt, AND YET he has signed on for another two Fast & Furious movies… He’ll be 55 years old when F&F Part 10 drops in 2022 (Honestly… Part fucking 10!).

But on top of that franchise, Vin somehow roped in a regular gig voicing Groot in as many Marvel movies as he can handle… And his whole gig is repeating the same 3 words. Fucking genius.
As a guy rapidly approaching 50 myself, I wonder if I could do the same thing. My breasts are also starting to sag, so now I just have to think of a 3 word mindless phrase that I can repeat ad nauseam, and maybe someone will pay me.
Just gotta find that right 3 word phrase.
