No One In The World Will Be As Happy As Magic Johnson When Lance Stephenson Interrupts His Interview

I can’t get enough of this. Last night was the Las Vegas Summer League title game which was a rematch from last year. However, no one cares about the game. What you should care about is arguably my favorite in-game interview ever. During Summer League, ESPN and NBATV were bringing up head coaches/GMs/front office people to do an interview.

Of course that meant Magic had to go up last night. He talked for roughly 153 minutes straight and it was pure gold. My favorite part though was this. When Lance Stephenson walked behind him, Magic stopped the interview to just start talking to Lance. I mean it when I say this. No one has ever been as happy as Magic Johnson in this moment.

From the ‘look who it is’ to talking about Lance being in shape and looking good, Magic was thrilled that Lance was here. I’ve watched the loop 100 times and can’t stop laughing during it. Magic’s big ass smile, the ‘OHHHHHH’ as he daps Lance up. Just so perfect.

He also dropped this gem during the interview:

He watched every playoff series and based on that is how he built the Lakers. I don’t know. That seems a bit crazy to me, but it’s Magic, so you never know. I just love the logic here. Magic sitting at home in a recliner, holding a notebook like ‘No. 9 on Pelicans. V. Good.’ or ‘Lance from Pacers. Likes to annoy LeBron. Team them up.’
