Trevor Bauer Is A Big Time Hockey Guy With A Big Time Hockey Name
I truly believe that everybody deserves a second chance in life. And I couldn’t be any happier to be giving Trevor Bauer his second chance right now. It was only a couple short years ago when Trevor Bauer was the prime example of the difference between hockey players and the rest of the world when he left game 3 of the 2016 ALCS with a little cut on his pinky. A hockey player could have had both of his hands chopped off by the blade of a skate and he’d still do everything in his power to finish a game, especially so in the playoffs. I’ll give Bauer some credit for at least attempting to stay in the game but having to get yanked early is the opposite of Hockey Tough.
But the Washington Post put out an article this week where they asked MLB stars for ideas on how to save the game of baseball (because as previously mentioned today, the sport is dying). And it was Trevor Bauer who had the best answer of them all.
Instead of 9 innings, let’s just cut the game down to 3 periods. Instead of bats and balls, let’s just play the game with sticks and pucks. I bet running around the bases would be a lot better if you could do it on a sheet of ice with a pair of skates on. Heck, most catchers are already wearing hockey goalie masks and they have essentially the same type of equipment on. These are all a bunch of quick, effective changes that we can easily make to baseball in order to make it the greatest sport it can possibly be.
Now the only thing I’m a little worried about here is just how much is in this for Trevor Bauer? I think we need to trace back his family lineage real quick before we really put stock in what he has to say here. As you all know, Bauer is one of the leading hockey equipment companies in the market, and they operate under the Nike umbrella. If Trevor Bauer is in anyway related to the Ray Charles Bauer who founded the hockey equipment company, then obviously Trevor Bauer has a lot of stock invested in that suggestion to turn baseball into hockey. By making baseball into hockey, that would inevitably lead to more hockey equipment being purchased on a global scale. If more hockey equipment is being purchased, there’s a strong chance that the majority of that equipment is Bauer brand. Which then leads to more money in Trevor Bauer’s pockets to purchase more drones and such. All I’m saying is that Trevor Bauer is a big conspiracy guy and I wouldn’t put it past him to be behind a conspiracy himself.
With all that being said, there’s a chance that he’s not related to that Bauer family and he could easily just be a huge hockey guy. Regardless of the circumstances, he’s not wrong. If you want to save baseball and make it great again, all you need to do is make it hockey. Because hockey is awesome.
