Novak Djokovic Wins Wimbledon

Day Thirteen: The Championships - Wimbledon 2018

No surprise here. Today was a pretty expected and straight forward victory for Novak Djokovic as he claimed his 13th career grand slam title and fourth Wimbledon championship. With Anderson being so exhausted from his thrilling five set victories over Fed and Isner, today was a walk in the park for the Joker. Novak was flawless in the match’s first two sets, taking them both 6-2, but Anderson showed a lot of fight in the fifth. He had Novak on the ropes for the set with multiple set points, but Joker locked in his serve and came up with the good stuff. In the tiebreak, Novak dominated and cruised to a stress free W.

The men’s semifinal between Djokovic and Nadal was the real final in everyone’s minds. With the stupid local curfew set for 11:00 PM, the two had to continue their match into Saturday morning after playing three sets on Friday night. Nadal leveled the match at two a piece which set up an amazing fifth set. Whether you’re a fan of the sport or not, that fifth set was something else.

This stat is wild but since 2002 the only people to have won Wimbledon are Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, Andy Murray, and Novak Djokovic. That’s insane.
