89 games?! Retaking the NL East?! AAAAAAAnnnnnd I’m hard.

Before we all partake on this Phillies Boner Parade, let’s not forget FiveThirtyEight projected Hillary to win by devastating margins. So let’s ease it back a notch and look at some other projections.

FanGraphs always sucks the Nationals dick, as do most baseball news outlets, and their fWAR system is very inconsistent. However, they did predict Maikel Franco via their ZIPS system that he would have 96 RBI this season. So maybe they are onto something. They did however, project the Phillies to finish with 74 wins in 2018 which means they didn’t add the Gabe Kapler Influence (GPI) into their algorithm. So FanGraphs is officially garbage. By the way, I just created a new sabermetric.

There is still a very long way to go. The Phillies beat a terrible Orioles team yesterday, but they should have murdered them. In July, the Phillies are hitting just .230 with RISP. That is not what Playoff teams do. The team OPS is just .682 over that time. That is also not what Playoff teams do.

On the other hand, in July their team ERA is 2.54 and their bullpen has been outstanding. Except Tommy Hunter of course who I am sure is giving an aneurysm to that genius brain of Gabe. This is something Playoff teams do.

It also helps when we have the love child of Mariano Rivera and Kenley Jansen out of the pen. This is something that wins you a Wordl Series.

I am now taking reservations on the bandwagon for all the 2007-2012 Phillies fans who have been missing the last 6 years. I am happy to have you back.

Gabe’s boys head to Miami for a three-game set. No mercy. Go Phils.
