Sacha Baron Cohen Had Dick Cheney Sign His "Waterboard Kit" In His New, Upcoming Show
Look, I think we can all agree on two things here:
1) Sacha Baron Cohen is a genius. Da Ali G Show came out in 2000. 2000! It was so, so, so far before it’s time. I can’t imagine how wildly popular it would have been in a world with social media. If any of you younger sprouts who read this here website is unfamiliar with Da Ali G Show, go have a watch. It’s Borat before Borat. It’s top notch interviewing with the most unsuspecting of guests.
2) For the most part, politics are dumb and anyone who leans heavily one way or the other stinks. Especially people who refuse to see the other side of literally any and all topics. Realistically, if you blindly agree with 100% of one side or the other, you’re a brain dead dummy.
But if there is one person I trust to put together the best possible political comedy programming and make it non-douchey (looking at you, Colbert), it’s Sacha Baron Cohen. The way he is able to twist and turn his interview guests, while simultaneously remaining in character, and how he gets them to say things they never wanted to admit is second to none.
Here are more details on the upcoming show:
CNN - Sacha Baron Cohen is starring in a new Showtime series that debuts this Sunday.
“Who Is America?” marks Cohen’s return to television after more than a decade away. The half-hour satirical series has been in the works for over the past year, Showtime said in a press release on Monday. The seven-episode series will “explore the diverse individuals, from the infamous to the unknown across the political and cultural spectrum, who populate our unique nation,” Showtime said in its announcement. “Sacha is a comedic genius who shocks you with his audacity, bravery and inventiveness,” David Nevins, Showtime’s CEO, said in a statement. “He is the premier provocateur of our time, but not for the sake of ‘gotcha’ moments. Behind the elaborate setup is a genuine quest for the truth about people, places and politics.”
While I think the world is tired off the non-stop political comedy and Trump bashing, it’s rather unrealistic to believe comedians, whose jobs are to poke fun and satirize current events, will just leave it alone especially when Trump puts so much on a silver platter for them. So if there is one comedian who was born to make a mockery out of Trump, it’s Sacha. His brain is just on another level, and he has never disappointed. Even Bruno.

PS: Never been more confused by a RT in my life.
Was it an accident? Was it a cryptic clue into something? Is Dave just a big Borat fan? I’ve never heard him drop a “MY WIIIIFE!” but maybe I just haven’t been paying close enough attention. My brain has been doing mental gymnastics since seeing the RT, that’s for sure.
