Justin Thomas Says French Fans Are Better Than American Fans

I was just starting to come back around on JT but what a setback this is. Just blatantly saying European fans and French fans in particular are better than American fans. And just a few days before the 4th of July, no less!

Look I get what he’s saying and the fans that show up to the French Open probably “know golf” better than the average fan at the Waste Management. But at the end of the day it comes down to this. The Americanization of golf means $$$$$$$. The American fans being a rowdy, boisterous crew comprised of people that are outside just “golf fans” has made the average PGA Tour purse in the Tiger era multiply 7x. The Americanization of golf has made all of these guys rich as hell and they love it. There’s a reason they’re not playing full time Euro Tour. The fans may “know golf” but there’s only a fraction of them so you play in America to make real money.
