Panarin Tells Columbus He's Not Ready To Re-Sign, It's Time To Reunite The Soulmates

I will be the first to admit that since I have zero sources this summer I’m letting my imagination run a little wild. Tavares, JVR, Tkachuk, Faulk, Darling, I want all of the rumors. None of those reports struck me quite the way this Elliotte Friedman tweet did. The thought of Panarin back in Chicago made my heart flutter.

Circumstances conspired against Kane and Panarin last off-season. A disappointing end to the season plus salary cap constrictions and the Blackhawks were forced to break up two boys who were born to play with each other. I mean look at their faces

It’s not too often you get a chance to right a wrong. The Blackhawks potentially have that chance. I don’t know what it would take to get Kane and Panarin back on a line together, but it’s worth exploring. Fate tore them apart, maybe it’s bringing them back together.

Realistically I’d guess that an extension for Panarin would  be like $8.5 to $9M AAV and the package to get him would likely include DeBrincat, another roster player, a prospect, and a 1st round pick. Not sure if that’d be too rich for Stan because they obviously felt they could be okay without him last summer. This is going to be one hell of a week.
