/Five years ago a memorable moment happened. It was game 6 of the NBA Finals in Miami. The Spurs led the Heat 3 games to 2 and the Spurs took a 75-65 lead into the fourth quarter.

Then LeBron happened. He sparked a 20-7 run, scoring 11 points himself during that run. In the 4th quarter alone, LeBron dropped 16 points and 2 assists while going 7-for-10 from the field. Sure, the Heat got some luck with Manu missing a free throw and Kawhi Leonard missing a free throw, but ultimately it was LeBron’s fourth quarter performance that saved the Heat.

To me this is one of the key moments in LeBron’s postseason legacy. When you look at moments like this, the run against the Pistons in 2007, what he did against Boston almost every time he played them and then the 2016 NBA Finals, it’s easy to see why he’s so damn good.

Ultimately, this game led to the Heat winning the NBA Finals in seven games and getting that signature NBA Finals win for both LeBron and the Heat. Sure, they beat the Thunder, but they were supposed to. Oklahoma City was a group of up and coming stars who were supposed to play together for a decade. This was the Spurs. This was Duncan and Pop and Kawhi and Manu and Parker. This wasn’t a guarantee NBA Finals win for the Heat.

Oh, this also happened 5 years ago today, which is a pretty cool play:
