Good morning everybody, I hope you had yourself a fantastic weekend. Seeing how it’s Monday and everyone hates life, I figured why not start our day with one of the most exciting players I ever remember watching. Today we’ll look at the Top 10 plays of the thrilling Jason Williams, one of the best and most creative passers in NBA history. You don’t get the nickname White Chocolate for nothing, because make no mistake about it, Williams could fucking ball. Now he’s different from most in that he never was a big time scorer, and never led the league in assists, but the creativity that Williams played with has definitely made its way into today’s NBA. To this day Steve Nash and Jason Williams are probably my favorite passers of all time.

Let me put it another way. If you were a fan of the NBA in the late 90s-early 2000s, when you were by yourself or were fucking around with your buddies, someone was going to pretend to be Jason Williams. Someone was going to try that elbow pass. I don’t know if the shock factor of watching Williams play was his actual skill, or that it was coming from a white guy. Remember during this time was when the And1 videos were all the rage, and there was Williams doing some of that same shit in an NBA game. Despite playing for 13 seasons on 4 different teams, he will always be a Kings/Grizzlies guy to me. Williams helped the Kings make the playoffs in each of his three years there, and they won 55 games his final season in 2001. Once he got to Memphis where he played the longest (5 seasons), they were terrible, winning just 51 games his first two years. Things got better as they won 95 over the next two years, but never advanced past the first round.

It wasn’t until he made his way to the Heat during the 2005-06 season that he won his only championship. Williams wasn’t half bad in that playoff run, averaging 29 minutes a night, starting every game averaging around 9/3 on 40% shooting. He would go on to play a few more seasons before retiring in 2008-09 at the age of 33, only to come back with the Magic in 2009 and play all 82 games. He retired for good two years later at 35, and finished his career 56th in 3PM, 78th in assists, and 39th in assist%.

White Chocolate’s place in NBA history is interesting in that he’ll never make the Hall of Fame, but to me was just as impactful as some of the guys who will. Anytime you see Rondo make a crazy pass, or Kyrie do something fancy, they all have a touch of Jason Williams in them. So remember, if there’s anyone you want to see in this blog just list their name in the comments, but in the meantime enjoy some of thebest passing your eyes will ever see and have yourself a great Monday.
