Dana White Goes Absolutely Ballistic On CM Punk's UFC 225 Opponent For Being A "Complete Fucking Idiot" During The Fight

The Welterweight matchup of CM Punk vs Mike “The Truth” Jackson this past Saturday night was one of the most bizarre fights in UFC history. With the skill and experience levels of the fighters taken into account, I think it’d be fair to call it the “worst” fight in UFC history. It’s certainly one I’ll never forget though, and most importantly – a big ol’ waste of everyone’s 15 minutes. It didn’t have to be, however. This fight only went the distance because one of the combatants decided that he wanted it to.

Mike “The Truth” Jackson, a journalist who competes in mixed martial arts on the side as an 0-1 fighter, was very clearly the better fighter on Saturday night. After a few lackluster exchanges that opened round one, Jackson took control, working his jab a bit and stuffing takedown attempts from Punk like they were nothing. At the very end of the first, Punk did take him down, but in mere seconds “The Truth” took top control and finished dominantly. At the start of the second round, Punk was GASSED. He was completely running on empty instantly, throwing such looping, exhausted punches that he was quite literally spinning like a dreidel across the octagon. Jackson was able to get on top of him, and just when it looked like the fight could be over, Jackson…didn’t do anything. Well, I shouldn’t say he didn’t do ANYTHING, but he basically just waved his one hand up in the air like he just didn’t care, looking at the crowd – not Punk – while he did so, and threw one or two half-assed hammerfists every thirty seconds with the other hand. In the third, we saw more of this, with the additional threat of a tickle every now and then. Seriously.

I think what Jackson thought he was doing was showing everybody that his opponent wasn’t even in the same league as him, ala Anderson Silva in his prime…

…but he failed to realize we enjoyed watching Anderson do his thing because he was SO much better than some of the most elite fighters on the planet that it was almost like watching a super-human feat of strength. Nobody even understood how it was possible. With Punk, Mike Jackson just proved that he was better than a 39 year old with zero combat sports experience until two years ago. Everyone understands how that’s possible, and everyone just wanted it to be over as quickly as possible when we realized what was up.

Because of this, White ripped “The Truth” a new one in his post-fight presser and claimed he’ll never let Jackson fight in the UFC ever again. I think I speak for all of us when I say: Good riddance.

P.S. I know Dana White is a goof but god dammit he’s our goof. His continued unprofessionalism is so friggin’ amazing. I’d much rather my President be transparent like this and call their employees “goofballs” and “fucking idiots” than have a corporate fraud like Goodell or Bettman running shit.
