Mother Dog Defends Puppy Against Leopard Attack In Terrible Look For Cats Everywhere

A fearless dog has been caught on camera fighting off a leopard that tried to snatch its puppy from outside a building in India.  The daring rescue was captured on CCTV from an Indian Forest Service office in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh. Footage shows the puppy sitting on a porch outside the office before the big cat pounces, trying to grab its prey and run.  However, the mother reacts quickly to the situation, attacking the leopard and forcing it to retreat back into the forest.

You couldn’t ask for a better matchup if you are on the feline side of things.  Giant, full grown adult Leopard against a puppy.  We’re talking Anthony Davis getting switched onto Isaiah Thomas type situation, should be an automatic bucket.  Right at the ambush it should have been a done deal.  But we’re not dealing with a standard X’s and O’s situation here, there is another factor at play, and that is HEART.   You can’t teach the type of gumption, as Darren Pang might say, to run into the fray against something double your size with enormous claws and an evolutionary knack for finding jugular veins.

How can this Leopard ever show his face in the jungle again? Talk about a pussy cat am I right? I’m not even sure why a big ass Leopard like that can’t just shake off the bites from a dog while dragging the puppy back into the dark. It doesn’t seem like there’s any scenario where a Leopard with 100+ lbs. on a puppy doesn’t reach paydirt. The only possible solution is a lack of “Want” as my old hockey coaches might say. Or maybe just a little “JAM”, which is hard to quantify, but you know it when you see it. This dog went straight to the loose puck without hesitation or regard for personal well being and all of the dog supporters have never been more vindicated. Tough to imagine a cat even getting off the couch if the situation was reversed. Just pure distaste for anyone but themselves.

On a separate note, if you’ve seen Planet Earth II you might have seen that these Leopards actually hunt IN THE CITY in India. That is some real Hide ya kids Hide ya wife type of shit. They move in and around people’s houses hunting small mammals such as pigs and even dogs and other pets (Most times more successfully than above), and that is the last thing you want to have in the back of your mind when you’re coming home hammered late at night.

Cool video detailing how they captured this footage of such elusive animals using thermal cameras.
