Hue Jackson Will Finally Take His Plunge Into Lake Erie Tomorrow, Fulfilling His Punishment For Going 0-16

Cleveland.com

At the end of the 2016 football season, Cleveland Browns coach Hue Jackson promised to plunge into Lake Erie if the team went 1-15 again in 2017. As seemingly everyone knows by now, the Browns did one “better” by finishing 0-16.

Jackson is set to fulfill his promise Friday at an unannounced time, but the coach will dive into much warmer waters than originally planned.

Initially, the jump was meant as a sort of punishment for the team’s 1-31 record in two seasons, as the promised plunge was meant for frigid-cold, icy water in the mid-30s. But with a stent in his heart, Jackson was not allowed to jump into the painfully cold lake.

Instead, he will be greeted with 57-degree water off of Cleveland on Friday, and the air will be warmer in the 70s. Depending on what time he ends up starting the event, he could run into a scattered storm, too.

Hue Jackson will finally come through on something for the first time in his tenure with the Cleveland Browns. Before last season, he took to the podium and said with supreme confidence that the Browns would not go 1-15 again, or else he’d jump into the freezing cold waters of Lake Erie. True to his word, the Browns did not go 1-15 in 2017 and instead went 0-16.

As punishment for the embarrassing season Hue will be taking the plunge tomorrow into Erie. Unfortunately, Hue has a stent in his heart and could not endure freezing cold temperatures like initially planned. The water will be a warm 57 degrees tomorrow which certainly takes away from the harshness of the punishment. Why don’t you just jump into a jacuzzi while you’re at it? Now that the water is warm Hue should have to belly flop shirtless off of a pier or something.

How about Hue has to drive his car into a lake and try to escape? You go 1-31 over two seasons you have to escape a sinking car in Lake Erie in order to continue coaching. I think this is reasonable.
