With All Apologies To My Good Friend John Taffer If You Are Rooting For the Vegas Knights You Are A Loser

Let me start by saying if you live in Vegas I totally understand why you’d be rooting for Vegas. But I feel like only Bryce Harper grew up in Vegas and everybody else from Vegas is a transplant. So barring Bryce Harper I just don’t get how anybody can root for this team. It’s not about the players it’s about the fans. They don’t deserve a championship and frankly they probably don’t really care if they win or lose anyway. The Knights are a nice distraction for a couple hours. It’s no different than going to Penn and Teller or Celine Dion show. It’s just another form of Vegas entertainment. When the show is over you hit the craps tables and go on your merry way. Nobody is losing any sleep over it. Nobody cares that much. There is no history. There is nothing. It’s like when the Marlins won their World Series. The fans don’t deserve it. The team hasn’t been around long enough for the championship to mean anything. If you like hockey, if you like sports, if you like America you have to be rooting for the Caps.
