Replace the word “Fire” with “Journo”

Oh hell yes. I wrote last night that Hunter Henry’s torn ACL was a reminder that nothing good can come from OTAs or the preseason. Well I forgot about Journo fights, which aren’t all that different from the scrums that players go through in training camp with their own teammates. Everyone’s just so cranky that none of this stuff means anything, you may get a few scraps that will get us through the dog days of OTAs. And everybody knows that a Source War is the best type of journalist fight. Don’t you dare question those anonymous team employees and “people in the building” or else you will be told to kiss the ring by your “daddy”. Twitter is so great and so weird at the same time.

The best part about this all is that Hue Jackson is the one that sparked off this fight. Well I guess Hue and technically Big Dick Nick Foles, who the article is about. From backup to a franchise QB to Super Bowl MVP who everyone calls Big Dick that was also allowed to turn down a trade to the Factory of Sadness while also sparking a Source War with this article. Nick Foles has absolutely dominated 2018 so far.

Shortly before the start of the league year, the Philadelphia Eagles turned down a potential trade that would have sent Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles to the Cleveland Browns for the 35th overall pick in the 2018 draft, according to three sources familiar with the talks. Before rejecting the deal, two sources said, the Eagles ran the scenario by Foles, who said he preferred to remain in Philadelphia. In April, the Eagles and Foles agreed to a re-worked contract that gave him a $2 million bonus for 2018 and allowed him to earn up to $14 million in incentives, while creating a “mutual option” for him to remain with the team in 2019. (Basically, Foles is free to leave if he pays back the $2 million.)

I love that Mr. 1-31 is our Helen of Troy. The guy that reportedly sings like a canary to the point the Browns couldn’t even tell him their draft plans caused a good old fashion Journo Source War. Hard Knocks with the Browns cannot get here soon enough.

And if this Twitter tift evolves to a full-blown sports media civil war, we have to get behind Mike Florio, right? I mean he is the one that gave birth to and raised PFT Commenter and his deceased twin brother. And it’s Grit Week no less! Plus Pat McAfee shoved Michael Silver into a bodybag a couple of months ago, so it would be weird to take the side of a dead person.

I’ve never met Mike Florio, but I know he lives in West Virginia, so you know he probably gets down with some backwoods brawls. Would he be down to headline Rough N Rowdy 4: Journo Wars if Silver signs off? Maybe a Schefter vs. Rapsheet co-main event? Shit, all this talk has me realizing just how much we need real football games to get here soon.

P.S. I’d be remiss to not include this old reporter fight from Fox 5 NY that Portnoy loves so much. You want to talk about putting someone on their knee and teaching them about journalism, this video is it.

That’s kissing your daddy’s ring shit.
