FINALLY, someone had the courage to do this. It’s about time we stepped up to the plate on this issue and knocked porn out of the park once and for all. When it comes to porn, we’re gonna be up there swinging and definitely not LOOKING. It’s about time we CHANGEUP the narrative that porn is okay to watch. The only backdoor sliders I want to see are out of a pitcher’s hand. The only time I want to see a guy going deep is when he’s standing in the batter’s box. The only choking I want to get excited to see is when I re-watch the 2004 ALCS. The only time I want to enjoy watching someone get unmercifully fucked in the ass is when my least favorite team has to pay a player a whole lot of money for zero production.

This is the way that it should be, and I’m glad that the Kansas City Royals finally recognize that.

Kansas City hosted a seminar for players and coaches last week and was given a hand by anti-pornography group Fight the New Drug. The group, which is not religiously affiliated, focuses on pornography addiction and “raising awareness on its harmful effects using only science, facts, and personal accounts,” according to its website.

The Royals got turned on to informing players about the harmful effects of pornography last summer. After pitcher Danny Duffy got put in handcuffs for driving under the influence, general manager Dayton Moore held a press conference on how the team was handling the matter and wound up, for some reason, speaking about the connection between domestic abuse and watching pornography.

“We talk about pornography, and the effects of what that does to the minds of players and the distractions, and how that leads to abuse of — domestic abuse — to abuse of women,” he said when asked if the team was using “new education protocols” to inform players on vices off the field.

Imagine having a rough night, catching a DUI and then the next thing you know, your general manager is holding a press conference blaming it on porn, and the following spring your entire team has to sit through a seminar that’s focused on warning a room full of grown ass adult men about the dangers of porn addiction. Like, what? How did we get here? What a wild ride.
