Four Dodgers Pitchers Combine To No-Hit The San Diego Padres

On the same night that Albert Pujols became the 32nd member of the 3,000 hit club, more history was made when four Dodgers pitchers combined to no-hit the San Diego Padres in Mexico. Since dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday to drop to 12-17, falling nine games out of first place behind the Dbacks, the Dodgers have now won three straight, while Arizona has lost three straight. It’s now a six-game mountain to climb for LA.

Consecutive win number three came when Walker Buehler (6 IP), Tony Cingrani (1 IP), Yimi Garcia (1 IP), and Adam Liberatore (1 IP) combined for nine no-hit innings and 13 strikeouts. Five walks kept it from being a perfecto, but fuck it. A combined no-hitter is still history and a much-needed victory. They only needed one run, but the Dodgers pitchers got all the run support they needed on back-to-back home runs by Chris Taylor and Enrique Hernandez in the second inning and it was all LA from there.

Congrats to the Dodgers on the 22nd no-hitter in franchise history, the first of which that was a combined no-no and the first MLB no-hitter outside of the United States or Canada.
