NFLPA Teaming Up With National College Players Association Could Mean The Return Of NCAA Football

BIG NEWS!

If you click on the link above, you will see that the NFLPA has partnered with the NCPA, which is the National College Players Association. A great move by the NFLPA.

SOURCE-The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) and the National College Players Association (NCPA) are pleased to announce a collaborative effort to explore how college athletes from all sports can finally receive fair compensation for use of their name, image and likeness. Under REP Worldwide, the group licensing subsidiary of NFL Players, Inc., we will look to advance and market the group licensing rights of college athletes of all sports.

The past few months have been massive for the rights of college athletes. Bills across the nation have been proposed to allow college athletes to profit off of their likeness. As more states get involved, the domino effect will essentially be unstoppable. If Florida passes their bill, that increases Florida, FSU, and Miami's likelihood to get recruits. You'd be crazy to think Nick Saban won't be making a call to the Alabama Senate to make sure they pass a similar bill. Saban ain't losing croots cuz of politics!

This is also good news for everyone out there that wants NCAA Football to be back in their life. The reason we lost this beautiful game was due to schools not wanting to deal with lawsuits that would require them to pay players themselves. For the game to happen, you need university licenses. Universities stopped licensing their rights 5+ years ago.

The reason Madden happens is because the NFLPA is around to make sure every player gets paid. Up until now, there was no NFLPA for college athletes.

It would be impossible for EA to negotiate with every single college football player. Imagine the EA lawyers calling up the 3rd-string left tackle on Louisiana-Lafayette? They ain't doing that.

If the athletes do have a union, EA would be able to negotiate with that union in a much more efficient manner.

This would result in NCAA Football coming back and even better than it once was: with player's names. The franchise mode could result in me not going outside for months on end.

We'll keep an eye on it. Finally, the NCAA is entering the 21st century. Let's just hope Mark Emmert doesn't fuck this up.
