One Grown Man Is Flying Out Another Grown Man To Fight Over... Sam Dekker?

Welcome back to the latest installment of “When Being Mad Online Goes Wrong.” On the last episode we saw two men go back and forth over the merits of Kobe Bryant’s career on Christmas Day to the point where the phrase “Meet me in Temecula” was born, and has since become common tongue for “fight me with your fists over our differing opinions.”

Earlier today, Sam Dekker tweeted something about how he’s not ashamed of being white and that everyone should be proud of who they are. At least that’s what he’s saying he meant in follow up tweets.

I don’t know exactly what he said because his initial tweet did not receive rave reviews, on the internet of all places, so he deleted it. Somehow no full screenshot was taken which may be the most bizarre part of this entire exchange. I didn’t know it was possible to say anything in 2018 and not have a readily available screenshot floating around somewhere. But this is where Player 1 enters our story, as he leads the charge to defend Sam Dekker’s honor against the mob.

The classic, “I can’t believe people are getting triggered lol wait a minute how dare you insult me now I’m triggered,” guy we’ve all seen a thousand times by now. Internet outrage culture is certainly a disease, folks love to drag other people for misspeaking daily, if you want to throw your hat into the ring to try and defend someone, be my guest. But if you choose to do so, you CANNOT immediately become upset by someone now turning their attention to you. You certainly should not, under any circumstances, get mad about Sam Dekker. Sam Dekker didn’t even get this mad about this. He deleted his tweet, said what he had to say, and continued his life. He’ll probably never think about any of this shit ever again. This guy, however, didn’t even realize he was about to embark on a night he wont soon forget. Enter Player 2.

Like I said, you throw yourself into someone else’s fight and the attention turns to you. That’s internet 101. It should’ve long been over, but nope! It’s time to take it to quote tweets.

We’ve got insults! We’ve got testosterone flowing! (Btw, according to Matt’s Twitter bio, he’s a lawyer of some sort. Wild move to start challenging people to fisticuffs over the internet because of SAM DEKKER but here we are, this is the world we live in and I wouldn’t trade it for any other reality. I never took the bar exam, maybe this kind of shit is allowed, I’m not the right person to ask. Last time I wrote about something I wasn’t an expert on, Carl Lewis threatened to choke me out. Hopefully this paragraph doesn’t lead to more of the same. Love you, Carl.)

Anyways, back to the fight. Multiple other people start joining in because why the fuck not? Which immediately led to an all time “I’m not mad” response.

*Incredibly accurate Pat McAfee impersonation* YIIIIIIIKESSSSS (Buy a shirt).

But this fight, while others are chiming in, was always about two guys. So let’s see how that all panned out.

LET’S GO! Finally some people who aren’t just spewing off at the mouth. Nothing better than spending a Thursday night doling out upwards of zero dollars to fly a stranger out to scrap over a Sam Dekker tweet. I think we just found a brand new angle for Rough N Rowdy. You have internet beef with someone? Figure things out in front of the cameras. Square up for three rounds. Earn yourself a couple hundred bucks on top of a moral victory. I don’t want to have to read about a fight after it happens with no crowd present to document it. Get to Youngstown and start throwing haymakers. As for this specific fight, I don’t anticipate them holding off til next month. Plane tickets have already been purchased and I assume it’s a real hassle to return those. I guess we have to wait and see what happens after we get touch down at LAX.

PS – I’ve never seen a Kobe fan buy a Kobe hater a ticket to fly out and fight in order to defend his honor. Drive to Temecula on a major holiday? Sure. But never put down legal US currency to book airfare. That’s an entirely different level of mad. Have to start wondering if Kobe fans were ever real fans in the first place after all this. I roast Kobe all the time sans consequence. But starting today? I’ll never say a cross word about Sam Dekker ever again. That’s a promise.
