On today's Spittin' Chiclets we're joined by the NHL's first and only Aussie, Nathan Walker of the St. Louis Blues, and Edmonton associate coach Jim Playfair.
Needless to say, Walker did not have a traditional path to the best league on the planet. But moving to the Czech Republic at just 13 took a tremendous amount of balls. The writing was obviously on the wall. But we didn't have anybody inform us that NHL players wouldn't be going until Sunday afternoon. We shared it immediately. Breaking stories isn't necessarily our forte but occasionally we get an ENG like this. And it happened to be huge.
Hours later, major outlets started Tweeting about the unlikelihood of NHLers going to China and it's been reported everywhere by today. Oddly, almost none have cited the our report (which is Big J 101 stuff).
Fortunately @NHLRumorsDaily is a man of integrity when it comes to the scoop game...
