After Signing His First Contract At A Steel Mill, Shawn Thornton Worked There All Summer Instead Of Going To Leafs Development Camp

On today's Spittin' Chiclets, Boston Bruins fan favorite Shawn Thornton joined us to discuss his career and his new book. Taken in the 7th round of the '97 draft by Toronto, Thorty literally signed his first contract in a steel mill. Then he convinced the organ-i-za-tion to let him continue to haul steel for the rest of the summer instead of attending development camp because the money was better and the workout was great. Doesn't get much more blue collar than that. And it's no surprise from Thornton.

We were also joined by Anaheim assistant coach Mike Stothers to discuss the Ducks hot start, his career, and having Biz on his 2015 Calder Cup-winning team. Stutts is an old-school guy and you can get a sense of why his players loved playing for him. Ducks fans will definitely want to tune in.

We also announced the newly-branded Chiclets Cup...

We also discussed Bob Murray resigning, Tortorella's comments on McDavid, the Ottawa COVID shit, and I rant about the NHL's ridiculous blackout rules. Enjoy.
