Episode Description

On today's Pardon My Take... JERRY O'CONNELL! The recurring guest and fantasy football savant joined Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter on today's show to discuss that fun and competitive game, a Mount Rushmore of Fantasy Football Positions, and more. O'Connell also had to get something off his chest that took over the internet last week: Billy Football's wardrobe.

Jerry O'Connell: I do have a question about Billy, because I'm not kidding: the thing I respect most are veterans...

(Everyone else laughs)

Jerry O'Connell: ... are people who, hold on a second, I'm actually, I want to be serious on your show for a second. Going away from your family, serving your country, risking your life, it's more than a job, it's not a job. I'm not joking. I'm being serious here. It's putting not only your life, it's putting everything on the line for everything that we hold true and dear.

Mr. Cat: So we can play fantasy football.

Jerry O'Connell: So we can play fantasy football. I'm really grateful. I'm really one of those people who, I don't care how many times everyone said it, thank you for your service.

Mr. Cat: Yes, thank you, Billy.

Mr. Commenter: Thank you is almost not enough.

Jerry O'Connell: If by the grace of something, I'm given a business class seat and I see anyone in close to anything that's camouflage, green, anything, I'm saying, you know, "This is yours." Is Billy a veteran?

Mr. Commenter: Of the War on Christmas, yeah.

Jerry O'Connell: So, he is not a veteran?

Mr. Cat: No.

Jerry O'Connell: I have a big problem with this, guys.

Mr. Cat: Well, hold on. He's not a veteran, per se, but I think you could say, like, Billy would have made a great Navy SEAL. So, it's kind of a technicality that he wasn't actually a Navy SEAL.

Mr. Commenter: He also said that he would trade it all to become a Navy SEAL.

Mr. Cat: This is actually when he didn't even have a job here. He said he'd trade it all, which was trading nothing, to be a Navy SEAL.

Jerry O'Connell: Commenter, you cannot tie Army issue shoes to your backpack and walk through the streets like you just got off a plane leaving Kabul and you just served, it's not OK. It's like those freak shows that drive fake police cars down the street. They are freaks, man. They are a danger, they are a menace to society, and they're actually dangerous, because you slow down.

Mr. Cat: Yes, the Crown Vis with the big mirror on the side.

Jerry O'Connell: They make believe they are officers of the law to make people respect them. It is really messed up, it's actually a mental problem.

Mr. Cat: Yeah, I think so, no, I agree.

Mr. Commenter: The thing with Billy is he's not doing it intentionally. He's just, over the years, accumulated so many things that are military adjacent because I think subconsciously, he wants to be in the military.

Poor, poor Billy. However, I don't think he is just going to stop wearing camo gear simply because of one man's criticism. The "Where's Billy?" jokes from Big Cat and PFT whenever he wears camo never get old. Keep on doing you, Mr. Football.
