Malcolm Jenkins: "What Could've Michael Bennett Done Differently (In Penalized Sack)?" Ref: "Avoid The QB" - Huh???

Look, I don’t want to dwell on one particular play in a single game that the refs may or may not have blown. Sometimes you get the calls, sometimes you don’t. That’s just the way she blows in this game of life. But that explanation seems to be problematic for the NFL.

“Avoid the hit (QB).” Wait, what? It’s Michael Bennett’s job to sack the Quarterback. That’s exactly what he gets paid to do. So when Michael Bennett or ANY defensive player sees their meal ticket on a silver platter for the taking, what are they supposed to do? That’s unbelievable. The foggy explanations on seemingly every single football hit nowadays takes away from the game so much. This shit isn’t that fun anymore. It really isn’t. And it’s not just the Michael Bennett sack as this has been happening all year.

Figure it out, NFL. Things seemed to work out in the 80+ years up until these rules.

PS – Again, don’t wanna dwell, but the hypocrisy in this league on almost every level is inexcusable.
