Lane Johnson Will Now Be Going Offsides 10x A Game As The NFL's Highest Paid Right Tackle

BGN – The Philadelphia Eagles agreed to terms with Lane Johnson on a five-year contract, according to multiple reports. The 25-year-old offensive tackle is now under contract through the 2021 season. The deal is reportedly set to make him the NFL’s highest paid right tackle. Pro Football Focus graded Johnson as the 10th best right tackle in 2015. He ranked sixth in 2014 and 26th as a rookie in 2013.

Cute. I mean, Johnson is a solid RT and will be reliable when he moves to LT after Jason Peters is raptured into the football HOF. Lane’s not (yet) lights out like his 4th overall draft selection would dictate. But this was more of a “What the fuck else can we do” resigning. Either make him the highest paid RT or let him eventually walk and replace him with a lesser talent. Yeah, Lane pisses me off with his comments and freaking 30 offsides a game (STEP INTO MY OFFICE). But I’ve got full faith he’ll be a reliable part of this OL during the remainder of his career. You need a good, stable offensive line to win in this league, so I have no issues with this resigning. Keep cooking those books, Howie! Now stay in the Accounts Payable side of the Novacare or risk getting stuffed into a locker.
