I Love Kevin Durant And Russell Westbrook Killing Mark Cuban And Charlie Villanueva During Last Night's Press Conference
This is what we have all been waiting for from Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant. Having two of the 10 best players in the NBA and only making one Finals appearance always seemed crazy to me. Kind of like the Payton-Kemp Supersonics (which I guess is almost the same franchise since OKC just ripped this team away from Seattle like sons of bitches). And while people have been blaming the coaching and the front office for not helping them get to the finals, maybe they just had to go full heel before they could take the next step. They should have been acting like members of Cobra Kai this whole time. Every 80s movie has the team with the most talent acting like assholes. I mean Russ has always had a screw loose, dresses like an asshole and the ridiculous pregame dancing could piss people off. But KD was always the tall, quiet guy that never really got angry. Well except for that time with Dwight Howard.
But everyone just wrote that off because everybody hates Dwight. I’m proud that Russ and KD were able to go after Villanueva without making any hair jokes. Just low hanging fruit. Fat jokes don’t offend me as a fat person, they offend me as a joke writer. Just be better. To remind everyone that Villanueva is a trash bench player that may not be in the league next year cuts sooooo much deeper. And while Mark Cuban is obviously a very smart businessman, there is no denying that saying Russell Westbrook isn’t a superstar was just flat out dumb. Not as dumb as turning down Big Cat’s brain full of frambulances, Nickelodeon, and GIF shirts. But definitely very dumb (unless Cuban thought he was going to trick Russ into going 3-for-25 playing hero ball, but that didn’t happen).
I’m not sure if I can talk myself into the Thunder making a deep run anymore, especially with the Spurs next round. But considering some Final Destination shit is going on with superstars in the West, with Steph and CP3 getting hurt, the Spurs better make sure Kawhi is wrapped in that fancy bubblewrap that Amazon uses. Why can’t I quit you, OKC?
