First Trailer For Live-Action 'Lion King' Is Here

Well, hot damn! This is going to be a potentially polarizing movie. Remaking something as iconic and beloved as ‘The Lion King’ is no joke. But, regardless of how you feel, you have to admit that this just looks insane. I know ‘The Jungle Book’ had similar visuals, but there is something about this trailer that just has a certain “Wow Factor!” to it.

I put together a side-by-side of the new trailer and the same scenes from the 1994 original movie.

Jon Favreau will direct (he also did ‘The Jungle Book’), Hans Zimmer will score the movie and Elton John & Tim Rice will return to re-create the iconic soundtrack.

No matter what side of the fence you’re on, this movie is going to easily cross a billion dollars at the box office. I would also not be very surprised if it ends up being the most watched movie trailer of all time.
