Marcus Williams Has To Walk Back To New Orleans, Right?

Case Keenum made a helluva throw. Stefon Diggs made an incredible catch, somehow landed in bounds, and had the presence of mind to not run immediately out of bounds but to take it all the way to the house. All of that’s well and good.

But Marcus Williams? Bro, what even was that? All he had to do is stand there, catch him when he lands, wrap up, never let go, and let time run out. Boom, you’re a hero. Instead he didn’t even make contact going full send trying to take out Diggs’ legs. Not only did he not make contact, he took out the only other Saint on the field who could maybe make at least an honest effort at catching Diggs from behind.

There’s no way he went back to the same locker room as the rest of the Saints after this, right? Thomas Morstead, the guy who played that entire game with broken ribs, came back out on to the field to play defense for the final snap after all of this madness. And the Vikings didn’t score on that play. Technically, Saints punter Thomas Morstead made more stops those last 25 seconds than Marcus Williams did. You can’t even look the punter in the face (no disrespect Pat.)

Yeah, you gotta walk back to New Orleans. There’s no way the rest of the team can even let him back on the plane for their own safety, let alone his. Marcus Williams is in a darker place than Steelers fans right now. No less than 80% chance he tries to bring that thing down over Arkansas. Better yet just stay in Minnesota. Those people will love you for the rest of time.
