Jimmy Eat World With Some Sage Advice And Regret When It Comes To Naming Your Band

Yep, I’ve too always wondered how they didn’t catch the unfortunate acronym before hitting it big. And they aren’t alone in their plight either.

Laugh out loud funny. Pretty cool band name, very unfortunate acronym.

It does stink that they can’t make cool band shirts with the J.E.W. I just spent 30 minutes looking for a single piece of merch stylized that way to no avail. It’s either straight across, or they stagger it like this:

And this last weekend on Twitter, they explained how they came up with the band’s name in “less than 5 minutes, no shit” and just ran with it.

Jimmy Eat World is one of my favorite bands, but I love that 20+ years into it they are able to think back and reflect on the name. Could always be worse though. Could be Saves The Day.
