I Hope Dave Doesn't Die Before We Can Go See Adam Lambert Together This Summer

QUEEEEn

Ultimate Classic Rock - Queen + Adam Lambert will spend the summer touring throughout North America. The group has announced a 25-city arena tour that’s scheduled to begin June 23 in Phoenix and keep them on the road through Aug. 5, when they’re booked for a performance in Houston. Along the way, they’ll travel throughout the U.S. and Canada, including what’s being billed as a “special” show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

Classic good news, bad news situation. Bad news first- Dave, my fearless boss Go Pres Go Salt of the Earth Food in my belly Portnoy appears to be on the brink of death. Not good! Very unfair! The good news is if he lives, we can go see Lambert this Summer. Little known fact about me- I love Lambert and I LOVE Queen. Me and Dave are gamblers who simultaneously will unapologetically hit every note in Whataya Want from Me.

Queen’s doled out hits left and right in their career and due to that, they are one of the top 2 bands on my concert bucket list along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. A simple fact of life is that Queen has some of the best drunk sing-alongs in history and there’s no debating it. Somebody to Love, We Will Rock You, We are the Champions, Under Pressure, Don’t Stop Me now. They’ve got more hits than Pete Rose (Bless Up). I almost didn’t even have an inclination to mention Bohemian Rhapsody because it should go without saying, but my god. I almost died when I went to Zac Brown Band 2 summers ago when they randomly played a Bohemian Rhapsody cover in the middle of the concert. I came my cargo shorts and nearly died and went to Heaven. It was an out-of-body experience.

And quick shout out to Queen’s next man up mentality. Can’t have Freddie Mercury for obvious reasons, so why not go with Adam Lambert? I didn’t get to see him on their last tour but if he kills it on this one he will join the ranks of my favorite gay dudes with Elton John and Andy Cohen. See ya at the Barclays Center on July 28th. Hopefully Dave will be there, but if not, next man up.
