The Wrap - ABC’s “American Idol” suffered another double-digit ratings decline on Monday night, as NBC’s “The Voice” continued its primetime singing competition dominance.
“Idol” dipped by another two-tenths of a Nielsen point — or about 11 percent — versus the comparable episode last week. The show’s key demo decline from Sunday evening was about six percent.

This is so awesome. I’m very here for it. American Idol ending up being a colossal failure would be the cherry on top of the cherry on top of my cherry sundae. ABC took the most unlikable celebrity and put her on a show that jumped the shark when the Nationals still played in Canada and expected it to work, and things are going downhill FAST. Two straight weeks they have seen double digit rating declines. Double digit! And even bigger for me- I live on Twitter. My job is to see everything. Not much in popular culture or sports isn’t on my radar at all times. And I didn’t see one single Tweet about American Idol last night. Not ONE. That’s very important. The people who are tuning in aren’t engaged with it, they aren’t talking about it, they aren’t caring. The only time anyone cared is when she forced herself on a young male and had to apologize.

Then, she kissed another male contestant on the lips, sparking a brief scandal: the singer had been saving his first kiss, he later said, for someone “special.” She has used the gay-Twitter slang “wig” on national TV, referred to herself as “a 32-year-old cougar” while admiring a teen contestant, slyly hinted at her ongoing war with Taylor Swift and fallen to the floor while dancing. The show’s been on the air for two weeks.
