Weezer Covered Toto's Africa And I'm Pretty Sure It's The Song Of The Summer

Honoring the request of long-running fan account @WeezerAfrica, Weezer have finally shared a cover of Toto’s 1982 hit “Africa.” Hear it in all its glory below. “I don’t know what’s next,” the account tweeted in response. “Just let me enjoy this for a while.”

Just last week, the band responded to the @WeezerAfrica account (run by a 14-year-old named Mary, as Noisey reported) with a cover of a different Toto song: “Rosanna,” the opening track from the same record “Africa” appears on.

I never knew that I needed this but here it is. Imagine being that 14-year-old girl (sorry to assume she’s a girl because of the name Mary. Mary could be a boy’s name too. Shoutout to Sue). You’ve been tweeting and tweeting about Weezer covering this one specific song and then they do it.

I think Mary should try to get Weezer to cover another song now. If I had to pick, I’d select Father of Mine by Everclear.
