So as most of you probably know I threw out the first pitch at Wrigley yesterday as part of the Cubs #LetsGoGold fundraising campaign for Pediatric Cancer. Thank you for everyone who donated, it was a great cause and to see some of the kids on the field having the time of their life was truly something special. One of the best stories was 2 year old Julian. His family came all the way from New Mexico for yesterday’s game and his older brother and sister raised over 3 thousand dollars by setting up a lemonade stand this summer.

If you weren’t able to donate you still can HERE.

As for my first pitch, well I didn’t totally embarrass myself so that’s good. And I’m going to be totally honest with you it was actually kind of nerve racking. I didn’t warm up because I’m a cocky shithead but once I got out on the field I was crazy nervous.

To be surrounded by so many people and know that if you totally screw up you’ll get laughed at forever is an intimidating moment. Anyway, here’s my first pitch,

Also, funny little side story. As I was walking off the field I saw Joe Maddon getting ready for the game doing some last minute stuff so I walked up to him and shook his hand and blurted out the very first thing I could think of.

“Hey Joe, don’t take any of that shit from those dirtbag Cardinals ya hear”.

I don’t even know where that came from, I don’t think I’ve ever even said “ya hear” in my life. Who the hell do you think you are man, Foghorn Leghorn? Anyway, Joe’s reaction, I’ve never seen someone so scared for their life. He 100% thought I was a crazy person that somehow snuck on the field. I guess you could say we’re best friends now.
