This 'Sexy College Scandal' Costume is Off to an Early Lead in the 2019 Halloween Outrage Sweepstakes

Ah, early October. When the air goes from 90 to 55 like it saw a cop car. When summer ales turn to Oktoberfests. Cotton turns to fleece. Everything turns to pumpkin spice. And the current event-related “Sexy [insert pop culture reference here]” Halloween costumes spark outrage from people who spend their waking hours worried that total strangers plan on enjoying themselves in a way they do not approve of.

Remember last year’s “Sexy Handmaid’s Tale” controversy? Somehow the republic managed to survive that one. But now the marketing geniuses at Yandy’s have managed to push the same alarm buttons on the same high-strung, easily triggered Thought Police with their take on Operation Varsity Blues.

Source – On Yandy’s website, the costume description reads: “Oops, you can’t always trust those motherly instincts. Turns out fame and intelligence don’t go hand in hand! Bribe your way to the admissions office and score the ultimate scholarly achievement (the best mom award!) in this exclusive College Scandal costume.”

Though some Twitter users said that they thought the costume was funny, others thought Yandy’s interpretation of the college scandal was offensive.

The horror. Aunt Becky and William H. Macy’s wife and some other Beautiful People are accused of spending a half million dollars to get their mediocre kids into USC (pardon me until I’m done laughing about that once again) by getting them photoshopped into crew boats and water polo pools, and that’s what? A joke to you? Something you find funny? Something to be ridiculed? Just another excuse for attractive women to show off their fit bodies on the most carefree night of the year? How dare you.

Here’s hoping this is a success. That Sexy College Scandal is one of the most popular costumes and Yandy makes a fortune off of it. Partly because it’s a clever idea, but mostly so that it’ll trigger the people who deserve to be triggered the most. So that Halloween 2019 can be another battle in the culture war as normal people battle back against the Judgey McNoFuns. That’ll it’ll continue the battle that Dave Chapelle started in his last Netflix special. So that we can keep Halloween fun and where everyone gets to dress however they want to dress. Before the only approved costumes end up being Ketchup & Mustard or something.

I mean, if people get this upset over what is actually making fun of rich people who broke the law? Wait til they get a load of Sexy Mr. Rogers.
