There Are Reports Of David Ortiz Being Shot During An Attempted Robbery In The Dominican Republic

I don’t even know what to say. These reports are out there, that David Ortiz was shot in the Dominican Republic. I didn’t want to blog them until we got a little something more concrete, but Ortiz’s father has at least acknowledged that an “injury” has been suffered in the Dominican Republic. I’m sick to my stomach. Just hope he’s okay. We’ll have more updates as they become available.

UPDATE: The gunshot wound is reportedly to David Ortiz’s leg.

Another update: These reports are saying that Ortiz was shot on the left side of his abdomen and that he’s in surgery.

Update: “The doctor in emergency says that David Ortiz said, ‘Please do not let me die; I am a good man.’ Shot between the left side of the lower back and left through the abdomen.”

Update: The Chief of Police says that David Ortiz is stable.
