Michigan Is Mad At The Last True Michigan Man

So in case you missed it Michigan lost to Ohio last week. I took total and complete accountability for the loss. I said I was embarrassed by the performance. That Michigan owed me and all alumni an apology. That the Michigan football program we knew and loved was dead. That we just had to accept the fact we were Northwestern or Wisconsin now. That we were just a good academic institution with a decent football team. That we were a basketball school now. I even said if it were up to me I wouldn‘t let Michigan wear the famed wings on their helmets until they beat Ohio.

Well apparently this take has upset some former players and alumni. They are calling me a fake fan. Saying I can take a hike. That I’m not a true Michigan Man. Friends this is embarrassing. If anything I should be being embraced by the Michigan community right now not shamed. I mean since when does Michigan accept mediocrity? Since when do we brag about going 10-2? Since when is a successful season a season in which we lose by 100 to Ohio? Bo Schembeckler would be rolling around in his grave hearing this nonsense. If you are proud of this team than you should go to Michigan State. Not me. I expect to be the best at all times. If I fail it eats me up on the inside. I don’t shrug my shoulders and say “well gosh darn it we still went 10-2 and got to play in the Holiday Bowl” If that’s what being a Michigan Man is about nowadays well I’d like to retroactively transfer to a school where winning still matters. Losing to Ohio eats me up on the inside till I can’t breathe anymore. I’m consumed by it. If the rest of the school felt that way maybe it wouldn’t be another 20 years till we beat them. So you tell me. Who is the real Michigan Man?
