Here I am, just getting ready to call it a night because I’ve got to be up early tomorrow for an appearance on Barstool Breakfast (tune in at 8:15am EST!), and I see the below image cross my Twitter timeline…

UHHHH, EXCUSE ME? WHAT??? HUH????? Floyd Mayweather is fighting TENSHIN NASUKAWA…the world champion kickboxer from RIZIN…IN JAPAN…ON NEW YEAR’S EVE?!?!?!?!

So I made sure it was real and not a trolljob, and it is, in fact, real. Then, through a spinning Mr. Krabs-like state, I found a stream for the press conference which is going on in Japan right now, and I can tell you this – the details have not been made any more clear since it has begun.I don’t know why this is happening, how it’s happening, who’s paying for it, if Floyd owes the IRS a fuck ton again, I don’t know. I have no feasible answers for you in that realm.

There is apparently no weight class or ruleset determined for this bout yet (despite it being marketed now as a “special rules” bout), and both Floyd Mayweather and RIZIN Chairman Nobuyuki Sakakibara have stated that those facets of the bout will be figured out in the coming weeks.

I’ll say this – I’m no kickboxing guru but if 20-year-old Tenshin Nasukawa, who’s VERY highly touted, could do this…

…Floyd would be in MASSIVE trouble even if they limited him to one kick per round.

If I’m a betting man, though, this one’ll be straight boxing. Aside from the obvious reasons for that prediction, during this press conference, Floyd has avoided every question about whether or not he’d be willing to partake in a kickboxing or mixed martial arts bout by responding with things like, “I just want to entertain the fans here in Tokyo”, or things of the like, and Nasukawa has just continually said that he’s more than willing to box Mayweather.

Floyd is also seemingly wearing a TMT hat with the Flag of the Philippines on it, reminding me of his laziness in wearing a “48” hat to the first Mayweather/McGregor press conference and spinzoning it by saying it was a tribute to his favorite show, “The First 48″.

It’s clearly just a hat from the Pacquaio build that he pulled out of his closet to wear to the first “coming out of retirement” presser in the build to his next fight…AGAIN! What’s wrong with this guy? You’re Floyd Mayweather you should look fly as fuck, ALL the time.

Alright, the presser’s over now. Really didn’t get any info from it that we didn’t from the initial announcement, but I will say this. If we’re mixin’ weight classes, age ranges, combat sports, nations…why the fuck not, Floyd Sr.?

Why the fuck not? Huh? Right on the undercard, maybe even throw us co-main for this pay-per-view on New Year’s Eve.

…and after I taught you a lesson in the squared circle, my new favorite kickboxer in the entire world, Tenshin Nasukawa, will shock the world when he becomes the 1 in…
