Awful Story: Woman Arrested for Spanking Her Stepson with a Belt for Breaking Curfew. Florida Story: He's 26

Source – A woman is charged with domestic battery after punishing her 26-year-old stepson for violating his curfew by whipping him with a belt, Largo police said.

According to an affidavit, Valerie Lee Branch-Galloway, 42, called the victim after midnight and asked him to decide his punishment for missing curfew. His choices: either tell his father or take the “licks.”

The victim chose the licks, and when he arrived home 30 minutes late, Branch-Galloway hit him 11 times in the buttocks with a belt, the affidavit said.

Police said he told Branch-Galloway to stop but refused, saying he had 19 more blows coming.

Branch-Galloway admitted to hitting her stepson 30 times, but denied he ever told her to stop, the affidavit said. She said he just asked how many more blows he had left.

She has been his stepmother for 13 years, and the victim has been living with her for three months.

For starters, let’s congratulate the stepson here for pulling the Will Hunting and taking the “licks” over the stern talking to from dad. Cuz fuck her, that’s why:

That was a mature decision that only a strong-willed, independent and rational grown man would make. As opposed to … virtually every other decision he’s made in his adult life, apparently. I mean, unless I’m missing something, willingly accepting 30 lashes on the ass with a belt because you got home at 12:30 is no way to go through life, son. Not at the age of 10. Not at the age of 18. And for sure not 26. Now add to it this is not even his mother and I’m going to suggest this not a guy equipped with the skills to function in the real world. Like I’d say he shouldn’t have moved back in with his dad and stepmom, period. But given that he’s got midnight curfew and voluntary takes belt spankings, I’m saying that living on his own is the last place in the world he should be. This guy needs to be with his weird dad and criminally abusive stepmother. But more than anything, this family belongs in Florida. Congrats to Mrs. Branch-Galloway in advance for when she’s named the Florida Stepmother of the Year.
