Reminder: Rapper B.O.B. Doesn't Believe In Slavery Because He's Never Seen A Slave Ship

I would expect this from a lot of rappers. But an irrational take coming from the mouth of B.O.B. knocked me flat. We’d come to expect such well rounded opinions from him, that this is truly jarring. When your favorite rap stars let you down with their shitty opinions, it winds up feeling like the end of the world as we know it.

His dumb idea came in the form of this IG post earlier this month:

The caption:

* bobThey say slavery lasted 400 yrs… America is only 250 yrs old… You ever seen a slave ship ? They can find a billion year old dinosaur bone but can’t find any slave ships. #AseerTheDukeofTiers ???? #apparently #SlaveryIsNotInMyDNA #WeBeenHere ????????

From B.O.B.’s perspective, I’m surprised it’s taken him this long. Because if he hasn’t seen slave ships, then he probably hasn’t seen the chains with which they were shackled or the platforms on which they were sold either. And has B.O.B. ever talked to a slave? My guess would be fucking no. If you haven’t spoken personally with a slave, how can one have ever existed? Answer me that Neil De Grasse Tyson.

B.O.B.’s stating of said inconvenient truths set off the bleats of a million sheep on twitter.

It’s a consistent theory from Bobby Ray though. If there were such thing as slave ships, they would have just fallen off the edge of the earth as they floated towards the Americas. If there were slave ships, the real tragedy would have been the unreported deaths of millions as they dropped off the globe map like lemmings falling off a cliff.

I just asked YP what B.O.B.’s last great hit was. He asked “Strange Clouds?” Even if that was it, it was probably about chem-trails anyway with Bobby’s woke ass. People seem not to like B.O.B. and his bad ideas, and thus are letting him fade into obscurity. That’s probably why news of his stupidity took a couple weeks to surface. But if we’re going to acknowledge B.O.B.’s ideas, we might as well start following some of his ideals.

So, in attempts to align my thought process with the mind of a great, here are some other things I have not seen with my own eyes, thus things I refuse to believe in.

  • India
  • A deal from Burlington Coat Factory that I didn’t like
  • An entire episode of Martin
  • The wounds in the side and palms of our lord and savior Jesus Christ (shoutout Doubting Thomas)
  • My own self sleeping
  • Myself at all for that matter (not counting reflections, and pictures)
  • Obama’s birth certificate (physical copy)
  • The Rains Down In Africa
  • A day off from Grind Mode
  • A pilot in action
  • Game of Thrones
  • Rodney Stuckey and 50 Cent in the same place at the same time
  • Martin Skreli’s Wu Tang album
  • Sound
  • Bears (the animal)
  • A Carson Wentz quarterback sneak on 3rd or 4th-and-1 that doesn’t work
  • My own brain/vital organs

Among others.

This was a heatrock though.
