College Basketball Has Officially Started Now That Purdue Is Losing At The Buzzer To Valpo In A Ridiculous Game
Hold on. Take it away, KB
The moment that rant goes on Twitter, you know college hoops has officially started. The wild thing? That wasn't even the craziest play of this game. Valpo did this:
I kinda hate that Valpo 1) changed its name to the Beacons a few years ago and 2) stinks at basketball. I just still think of Bryce Drew making that jumper in the NCAA Tournament and Homer Drew on the sidelines. Valpo should be good and Valpo should be the Crusaders. But this is a good start. It's a good reminder that this Purdue team kinda stinks. They have BAD guard play, which isn't shocking considering they lost Braden Smith and Fletcher Loyer after what felt like roughly a decade of being there.
Just a perfect start to the college hoops season. A sleepy Friday before a loaded college football Saturday and we're getting Valpo over Purdue, SLU over Mizzou, UConn and Michigan playing in Boston. This is why I will never quit this sport. For all the bitching about transfer portal (fair), NIL (not as fair) and lawsuits (keep bitching, we all should be) the sport just knows how to deliver. Teams don't just walk into Mackey and get a win. But Valpo does.
This is how you know the season is here. Purdue loses in devastating fashion, everyone gets their jokes off and we all remember that Bryce Drew shot from Valpo. Add Justus McNair in November to the list for Valpo.
