'I Always Saw This Place As A Sleeping Giant' - Another Day, Another Reminder That Will Stein Turned Kentucky Football Into The Best Story In The Sport

Will Stein made sure America knew his name back in July. A simple quote that we have latched onto ever since that moment. We're gonna win because of him. Well, here we are. 7-1, leading the SEC, number 6 in the playoffs initial rankings and 4 games left where you just gotta find a way to go 3-1 and the dream is just starting.

At the same time, people want to shit on Kentucky. They want to say that Will Stein is going to bolt for another job as fast as possible. People seriously tried to link him to Florida State the moment that job opened up. Little secret, Kentucky is his dream job. He knows what this school is capable of

A sleeping giant is damn right. I don't think people know that Kentucky can spend money. At the same time people just assume all we care about is basketball. Yeah, we'll always be a basketball school. But we fucking love our football too. There's a reason Commonwealth Stadium is sold out all the time. There's a reason that fans are living and dying with each play and don't care to hear the debate of football school vs basketball school anymore. Because we finally have a coach who just gets it. A coach who grew up in Kentucky, as a Kentucky fan, with a dad who played at Kentucky.

And now we get another week of it. A week where we have to go to Tennessee and they are pulling out every single stop for their Super Bowl.

Everyone picking Tennessee to win this game. Yeah, history says they are the favorite. We went a damn near lifetime before we got a win. But this is a new era. This is an era where Will Stein has been an underdog in basically every game and it hasn't mattered. He has the balls to make the call with the game on the line.

Best story in the sport and it ain't close. We'll worry about the rest of the season after this week. Go 1-0 on Saturday.
