The Pirate Lives On: There Isn't Anything Better Than Gardner Minshew Talking About Mike Leach As He Gets Ready To Start Again In The NFL

This isn't the first time Gardner Minshew said that line from Mike Leach, but it's a good reminder that the Pirate lives on forever. Hell, we probably failed not reminding everyone about Leach's great take on Halloween candy back in the day: 

The guy was a walking quote machine who also was an offensive genius. That's what made Leach so much fun in the sense of no matter if he was coaching or on the mic he was entertaining. He was the guy you wanted to stay up late to watch his offense at Washington State. I don't think there was a soul in the college football world from fan to coach to player who didn't love Mike Leach. He was the best. 

Part of the reason he was the best though was also Gardner Minshew. He found the right quarterback for his system and more importantly for his personality. The two of them were built in a lab for each other, especially to be playing out there in Pullman, Washington. You can't put Mike Leach and Gardner Minshew in South Bend, but a place like Washington State? That's what I miss about college football. I miss Washington State being relevant and conferences making sense. But I can't do that in a Mike Leach blog. 

Can't believe we have Minshew starting again in the NFL. I don't know if I like it or not. He's made to be the backup hero that comes in and wins you a game out of nowhere. You can't prep for a Minshew week. Him being the starter though? That feels wrong. Don't get me wrong either, Minshew is good. I feel like KB here where anyone saying Gardner Minshew stinks is just wrong. Need him to get hot and keep reminding the world how awesome Mike Leach was. Long live the Pirate forever.
