Hell Of A Start: Porter Moser Spent His Press Conference Apologizing To Oklahoma Fans For Losing To Something Called East Texas A&M On Opening Night

I know East Texas A&M is formerly Texas A&M-Commerce and recently moved up to Division I. But to really drive the point home about how bad of a loss this is, you gotta make fun of East Texas A&M, which I'm pretty sure was coached by Eric Taylor for a season. Think about where we were with Porter Moser back in the day too. Not even that long ago! He was the cock of the walk at Loyola Chicago. He chose to go to Oklahoma and even then people thought maybe he'd go to Villanova at some point or another decent job.

Now? Now he's apologizing for losing to this:

I'm not lying when I say we should be able to relegate Oklahoma out of the SEC. That's how bad this loss is. It's embarrassing for an entire conference from a team that doesn't even belong in the SEC. It's one thing if Vanderbilt is losing to a team like this. But, Oklahoma? Absolutely not. They are a joke of a program to be in the SEC. We don't lose to people like East Texas A&M. We lose in devastating fashion in the NCAA Tournament like real men, damnit.

I don't know how you come back from this. I know it's a long season and all that. But you're losing as a 28.5 point favorite when half the fanbase was ready to fire you and their football team stinks too? Yeah, good luck out there, Porter. I'd be apologizing too. That or just keep reminding them that the football team fired Ben Arbuckle. Tough to see a loss like this happen. Porter gotta be ready to jump back to Loyola Chicago here now.
