Jayson Tatum Is ALL THE WAY Back After Burying His First Game Winner Of The Season
Brian Babineau. Getty Images. You could say it's been a pretty eventful last few days for Jayson Tatum. Most of it for all the wrong reasons. The basketball side? That stuff has been awesome. Outside of that little opening day stinker, Jayson Tatum has looked incredible to start his season. The more people try and pray on his demise, the better he seems to get. A monster night against the defending Champs, another solid night against the Bulls, and then there was Wednesday night. His first true explosion of the year
You'll notice that last line there. OT Game winner. That's right. It wasn't just another monster 40/5/8 performance. This one came with a fairytale ending, not too different from what we saw against the Knicks. When it came time to win the game, Jayson Tatum won the game

Boy did that feel great. With all the shit we've had to listen to to start the season when it came to Jayson Tatum, he gives us yet another "Fuck You" moment. For the moment I'm choosing to ignore why the Celts were in that position in the first place, we'll deal with that later. For now? For now we celebrate the return of one of the best basketball players on the planet. A champion. One of the most clutch players in NBA history (fact, not opinion).
A player who was built for these moments and has already come through twice now in the first 4 games to get the Celts off to a 3-1 start.
The shot itself? What growth. What patience. Young Tatum settles in that moment. Probably takes a tough contested off balance jumper. Older, more mature Tatum? Look at how patient he was at getting to his spot, taking his time, and going up and shooting with confidence. Money. Everything about that possession was perfect. That play from Joe and the execution from everyone on the floor. For all the shit this team seems to get for "not coming up in the clutch", they sure do seem to come up in the clutch a lot. Interesting how that works.

Perhaps the best part of all this? Tatum played 42 minutes on the second night of a B2B and looked incredible. I didn't think about his health once while watching this masterclass, and that's awesome. He really is back, and god dammit this very well might be the best version yet.
What a fucking shot.
