It Just Means More! Tempers Flare In An Alabama-Auburn…SCRIMMAGE!

Thursday night. You thought the NFL was going to dominate the night? Maybe some late hits, penalties, hail Mary’s etc. or maybe college football would have a big moment. Or maybe the World Series would start giving each other bulletin board material… nope. The biggest scuffle so far has been in an Alabama Auburn scrimmage of all things. 

Look, there’s no really much to say here about the “fight” if you can even call it that. One guy shoves another. Both coaches fire up their teams, players get separated. Refs have to start calling it tighter. We get some great screen grabs, and we move on. But what I will say is that take my homer affiliation away- the Alabama Auburn game has had A TON of juice the last couple of years. Like legit “motion” as the kids say. They’ve been highly ranked, tons of talent, each has made a final four in the last 3 seasons, the games have been unreal, they’ve hosted pre game shows, and they really really do hate each other. It’s a testament to both programs and how much impact they have in hoops recently when they used to be an afterthought as football schools. I’m always fired up for college round ball but stuff like this makes it even better. Gonna be a TERRIFIC season.
