"Petey In My Backswing Is Crazy. I Went To Rehab For That" -- Biz Delivered An All-Time Ricochet Shot To The Vancouver Canucks With This Chirp

The Chiclets boys got a couple of Olympic gold medalists out for 18 on the latest Sandbagger. JT Miller and Vincent Trochek. Just a couple of kids who grew up playing together for the Pittsburgh Hornets, all the way to playing together for the New York Rangers and Team USA at the Olympics. That's a truly special type of bond when you have a teammate out there who legitimately feels like a brother.

One former teammate that JT Miller probably doesn't have those same feelings towards is Elias Pettersson. The two of them had a highly publicized rift during the 2024-25 season in Vancouver. They are far from the first set of teammates to not exactly see eye-to-eye with each other in sports. We have seen countless teammates throughout time who aren't friends, borderline hate each other, but still manage to have a working relationship once that game starts.

This particular rift became so irreparable that it completely destroyed the Canucks organization all together. JT Miller was traded to New York. Quinn Hughes eventually requested a trade out of there. The Canucks were 1 win away from advancing to the Western Conference Final in 2024, and they haven't made the playoffs since. They were the worst team in the league last year. Complete and total demolition.

So if there's any way you're going to get JT Miller off of his game on the golf course--he has a handicap index of 0.2--it's bringing up EP40.

And somehow he still managed to nuke the shit out of that tee shot. That was a 364-yard par 4, and JT Miller practically drove the green. He had his boys pin high. What a golf shot.

But also, what a peak behind the curtains as to what went down in that Canucks locker room. JT Miller took a leave of absence from the Canucks before he ended up getting traded. Most of the time when guys step away from the team, it's to enter into the league's assistance program for either mental health or substance abuse issues. But when the team announced he would be taking a leave, the assistance program was very clearly left out of the statement. Which means it had to be for something else.

Now thanks to the Sandbagger, we know it was all because he couldn't stand Elias Pettersson. And I mean…it's not like you can really blame him. Elias Pettersson was a consistent 30+ goal scorer in the league. 102 points in 2023, 89 points in 2024. And then, out of nowhere, he completely dropped off a cliff. Just 15 goals and 45 points in 2025, and just another 15 goals in 2026. He's a guy who makes $11.6M per year, so I'm sure JT Miller was on his shit about his lack of production. If Elias Pettersson wasn't the type of guy to seem interested in really grinding his way through those struggles, then you can understand why JT Miller would want to put him through a wall. He's a fiery, old school type of guy from East Ohio.

But the real story here is clearly that locker room was such a shit show that JT Miller doesn't even care about airing it out now. Usually this would be a subject that most guys would want to quickly change the subject on. JT Miller doesn't give a shit. He's moved on, won an Olympic gold medal, and pretty much everyone he played with in Vancouver is out of there by now anyway besides Pettersson and Boeser. Time to let it fly.
