It's Impossible To Look Cooler Than Darius Rucker Does In This Video When He Tells People To Listen For A Hootie And The Blowfish Reference In A Rap Song

There's cool ... then there's be a rockstar on a photo shoot and hear your own band name in a BIGGIE song cool. And Darius Rucker is the latter. First off, I feel like I've written this before, growing up in the 90's as a young kid Hootie And The Blowfish was my first favorite band, much like many kids my age. The Cracked Rear View album is one you could play cover to cover and enjoy. They had like 5 singles go to radio, everyone loved them. Then somewhere along the way the world flipped and decided it wasn't cool to like them and they faded. But kids my age never forgot so when we got to college and it was time to control the aux, Hootie would be one of the first ones on, and then it was almost like a secret society of "you like Hootie too?" to which everyone would always say "of course who doesn't" and you quickly could bond and go your right ... fuck anyone who doesn't like them. Forever love Hootie.

Maybe part of that is how damn cool frontman Darius Rucker is. I mean look at the guy- decked out in nice clothes, holding a guitar on what's likely a magazine photo shoot and if that's not enough a song comes on that drops a line about his band, and he looks cool ripping the lyrics to the people. Fucking unreal. You can't script someone to be that cool. Also, props to him because I've listened to Mo Money Mo Problems 3488949903 times and never once picked up that it's "stay humble stay low stay blow like Hootie". Granted it's Mase who sings it, but the story originally was inspired because of an interaction with Biggie at the Grammys. All time cool.
