Just Another Day At Louisville - They Had To Put Out A Statement Denying Internet Rumors That Kenny Payne And A Player Got Into A Fight At Practice

Louisville has reached the point where no matter what is said about them there's a good chance it's true. Take yesterday for example when an Internet rumor started that Kenny Payne and a player squared up to each other in practice. It's not hard to find, but what really set people going was this tweet by Trilly Donovan:

Now if you don't know Trilly Donovan, he's a completely unknown person. No one can figure out who he is although there are plenty of guesses. No, it's not our own Mark Titus either:

But Trilly is an insider of sorts. He's broken a ton of news from coaching stories to transfers to recruitment stuff. Kind of mind bottling that no one can figure out who this person is despite all the news that comes from him. Anyways, you look at some of the stuff to his tweet and you get to the story:

And on and on we go. I have no idea where the rumor started, but it's all I've seen in the weird world of college basketball Twitter. What makes it even funnier is the school had to respond to the rumors. They actually put out a statement denying the rumors and claiming they had an open practice yesterday with dozens of people there. DOZENS!

Giphy Images.

That might be the worst part of it because people are claiming the incident happened at a different practice. All I know is we're picking up right where we left off last season. Louisville is losing to Division II teams, they want to get rid of Kenny Payne and start the whole coaching search again. Man, if only they had one of the greatest coaches of all time there instead of say a place, like, oh I don't know, St. John's. That'd be nice to have if you were a Louisville fan.

Even weirder, this is somehow only like the 12th weirdest thing to happen at Louisville in the last decade or so. Doesn't even come close to ahem people squirting to the ceiling:

Games haven't even started yet and Louisville can't stay out of the news. Some things never change.
