Future NFL MVP Jake Elliott Does NOT Appreciate His New Nickname, "Chicken Little"

The Philadelphia Eagles men's professional football team is currently 4-0. They are one of only two teams left in the league who remain undefeated through the quarter mark of the season. And the only reason why this team still doesn't have a loss?

This son of a gun right here. This little stinker. Jake Elliott--the best kicker in Philadelphia Eagles history, and should be leading the way in the MVP conversations right now.

Seriously. Think about where this team would be right now without Jake Elliott. The offense looked putrid against the Patriots to start the season in a rain drenched week 1. They won the game 25-20 thanks to Jake Elliott coming up huge with 4 field goals on the day, and two of them being from 50+. He hit a 61-yarder right before halftime in week 2 against the Vikings to completely change the trajectory of that game. He wasn't super necessary against Tampa in week 3. But then yesterday after the Eagles defense pissed down their leg the entire afternoon and gave up a touchdown in the final second of regulation, Jake "The Make" Elliott drilled a 54-yarder for the win in overtime to keep the Eagles undefeated. DeVonta Smith never had a doubt he'd step up and make that game winner.

If we're being completely honest here and just focusing on the facts, DeVonta Smith ain't wrong. Jake Elliott bares a striking resemblance to Chicken Little. Keep in mind that Chicken Little was the second-highest-grossing animated film of 2005, only behind Madagascar. The movie grossed $314 million worldwide. So there are certainly worse things to be equated to than Chicken Little. However, it doesn't seem like Jake Elliott is too fond of the nickname.

Typically when one of your buddies makes it clear he hates being called by a certain name, that only galvanizes the rest of the crew to really make that nickname stick. But considering how important Jake Elliott has been to this 4-0 start for the Eagles, and considering he should be the MVP of the league through the first 4 weeks? I think we should allow him one firm nickname veto for the season. So let the record show that we will NOT be referring to Jake Elliott as "Chicken Little" this year. Not even one time.
