We're Looking At A Few Home Run Props Today

Can I catch a fucking break? I've been working at this company for two years, and I'm still yet to find something I'm really fucking good at. Now, of course, I didn't expect to jump into the gambling stuff and immediately start setting the world on fire right away, but can I win one bet, one fucking bet? I've tried going with the numbers. I've tried going with my gut. To say that it's led to mixed results is the understatement of the century. I've rolled a fair about of gutterballs. I'm not going to quit with us. I'll probably never be a good gambler, but there's no fucking way I'm this bad. Strider and Gallen were rolling into the 7th inning yesterday, and the under still didn't hit. That's when I knew it was going to be a shit day. Whatever, onward forth. Let's take a look at today's picks.
Angels -1.5 (+110) against the Pirates
I feel like I'm selling my soul by betting the Los Angeles Angels, but I'm surprised by the value here, considering Ohtani is on the mound. He's been inconsistent lately, but his stuff is still overwhelming, and he's facing a subpar opponent in the Pirates. As much as I can't stand the Los Angeles Angels, they've played well this week, including sweeping the New York Yankees. They're bad for baseball, so they will stay hot going into the trade deadline, tread water, and hold onto the best baseball player of all and waste him for another half a season. The more I talk about this bet, the more it makes sense to me.
Chas McCormick to homer (+425) against the A's
The Astros offense has had its struggles this year, especially without Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez, but one of their bright spots has been Chas McCormick, who has quietly put together a phenomenal campaign. He's been one of baseball's hottest hitters in July, putting up a 1.313 OPS with five home runs in thirteen games. His sample size against A's starting pitcher JP Sears is too small to analyze, but he does have a home run against him. Sears is also a lefty, and McCormick crushes left-handed pitching. I hit with a home run prop on the first two days of the season and thought that might be my niche, but I don't think of hit with a home run prop since Javier Baez went deep on my birthday (yes, I see the irony in that). I need Chas to do his thing today.
Austin Riley to homer (+400) against the Brewers
Fuck it, let's do another home run prop. Despite being a rock-solid ballplayer, Austin Riley had been somewhat un-Austin Riley-like with his offensive production this season. All that changed in his most recent series against the Arizona Diamondbacks when he hit four home runs in three games and drove in eleven, including a game winner homer in the 8th inning yesterday. I feel like every member of the Atlanta Braves offense has gotten extremely hot at some point during this season, and it feels like it's Riley's turn to be en fuego. I didn't pay much attention to his sample size against starting pitcher Freddy Peralta. He needs more at-bats for me to consider that. I'm trying to read the writing on the wall here and assess the value. Considering how dominant Riley was in the most recent series against the Diamondbacks, I feel the +400 numbers here are pretty damn good. Don't let me down, Austin.
