Jonathan Gannon Deserves A Lifetime Contract After Rolling Up To The Linc With This Energy

You may not know this but we here in the city of Philadelphia are a fickle bunch when it comes to our sports teams. One day we'll love you, the next day we'll be buying your one-way ticket to Siberia. And it's never just going from love to hate, or vice-versa. It's a tennis match between love and hate that goes back-and-forth until your time in this city is over. And very few sports figures in Philly have ever commanded a volley between love and hate quite as intense as Jonathan Gannon.

Some athletes and coaches in this city have the switch go from year to year. Other athletes and coaches might be so polarizing that the switch from love to hate can happen from week to week. Jonathan Gannon is honestly hour to hour. At 8am on a Sunday some folks might want him fired before opening kick off, by 3pm they're ready to crown him the greatest defensive strategist who ever lived, and by 6pm they want him fired again.

But regardless of how you feel about Jonathan Gannon, I think we can all agree he deserves a lifetime contract after this. Pulling up to the Linc for the NFC Championship Game in a blacked out G Wagon, sunglasses on, roll down the windows and give a "we're gonna fucking gut these guys" so convincingly that it seems like those were the only 6 words he was saying to himself all morning. No shit the Eagles defense went out there and literally tore the 49ers offense apart. It would be impossible not to match that energy from Gannon.

So I'm sure that he has his sights set on a head coaching position at some point. It sounds like it won't be next year (thankfully), but definitely somewhere down the line. I just think that no matter what happens in the future, Jonathan Gannon should always have a job waiting for him here in Philly. He earned it with those 6 words alone. Now let's make sure he gets over to the nearest Enterprise rent-a-car in Glendale to pick up a G Wagon for next Sunday.
